"Brightly coloured comics about decay, digestion, rotting flora, extraterrestrials and other fleshy mutated things."
Madhav Nair is a rarity. In a world where most artists are trying to come up with the next punch line in a long-running conversation, he seems to have left that pursuit altogether and chosen a path of his own. The result? A heady mix of colours, creatures and commentary that has found expression in a wide variety of canvas – from public murals and zines to editorials and album covers. Based in Bengaluru, he trained as a visual designer at Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology. As striking as his art is his love for kappa pazham (red bananas) which he considers to be nothing short of a national treasure. All of Madhav’s work is published under the pseudonym ‘deadtheduck’.
