Nirali Naik is a photographer based in Mumbai. While majoring in Advertising, she happened to sign up for a short class at the National Institute of Photography. And that’s how an intended hobby turned into a full-time pursuit. Heavy on mood, leading lines and colour, her photographs invariably have movies as a major influence, especially ones by Eric Rohmer, Gaspar Noé and Wes Anderson. Even though her work has covered everything from food to portraits, travel – and by extension stories - is where her heart lies. Favourite prop? Creeping sunlight.
