About The Artist
Pooja Bansal is a mixed media artist based in Mumbai. After working as a finance professional in leading organisations for fifteen years, she left her corporate career behind in 2018 to pursue her passion for art full-time. Inspired by old architectural landscapes during her travels across India and abroad, she was deeply drawn towards the doors and windows that stood as portals to another time. These served as inspiration for her trademark style of using wooden doors and windows, with their natural grains and texture, as a base for her paintings. Blending the modern with the vintage, Pooja’s sustainable practice also involves glass, concrete and metal infused with paint, paper, fabric, gold foils and more. Pooja has executed numerous projects and commissions for leading design firms and stores including DesignHex and Studio Ebony.
